I would like to know if the 1 PPS signal is well-synchronized to the UTC values output in the NMEA sentences (GGA, RMC, GLL)? I need to match up the 1hz readings of the GPS to ~50 samples per second of a data acquisition system. I m using the 1 PPS signal to trigger readings of the data acquisition system, but that would only help if I knew that the PPS signal corresponded to, say, a NMEA UTC value of xxx.xxx seconds.
Additionally, from the specs, I read that the time is 1us synchronized to GPS time. Does it mean that when the 1 PPS arrives, we are on the boudary of a GPS second within 1 microsecond precision. Then this time is converted to UTC and rounded to 1 millisecond (NMEA UTC value of xxx.000 seconds)?
