Data Log with BU-353 in Windows 7
« on: May 16, 2013, 11:54:14 am »

Hi, I would like to use my BU-353 to make a log of data being output from the device. Essentially I just want to create a log file of some sort that records the data each second so that it can later be used. Currently, I only have it working GPS navigation softwares in real time but I have not been able to figure out how to use it for a data log file. The final intent would be to use that data log file to overlay the information on a video. But that is secondary at the moment. Any idea how to create a data log?

Hi Rduncan,

One way to accomplish that would be by using software such as GPS Gate (use the free version).

Here is a software tool that you can use to log your data from your device and save it to your desktop as a NMEA file or as a KML file. Then use the files on Google earth or other programs to look over your routes and patterns. it's for the ND100S but it works for all of USGlobalSat serial and USB devices as a data logger.
