BU-353S4 on Windows 10
« on: March 28, 2016, 05:08:15 pm »

I have the BU-353S4 on my Microsoft Surface Pro with Windows 10

I have not found any info except that the S4 does work on Windows 10.

I have used Microsoft Maps, Here Maps, Streets and Map 2013, Google Earth Pro and Goops

I have not had any luck getting any software to
1. pick up the gps
2. give me turn by turn navigation.

Does anyone have step by step and/or videos to help. I don't care what program. I just want turn by turn voice navigation with live gps locate me thing just like our phones have.

Thanks. Been looking for 3 weeks and getting tired of no answers.

Hello shawngormley,

In order for a Windows App to be able to read the GPS data from a NMEA USB GPS Receiver, you'll need to convert the COM port to a "GPS Sensor".
Please download and install this application, which should be able to convert the COM Port into a GPS Sensor:

1. Extract all files & double click on gps7s64.exe file.
2. Select your COM port for NMEA source
3. Select 4800 baud rate
4. Click Install
5. Now you should see GPS data in the GPS Sensor Utility.
6. Leave this tool running and open up your Navigation App and see if you're able to get it to work.

If you're not able to get it working, then perhaps you can purchase the latest version of this software here: and click on "GPS Direct" and contact the GPS Direct developer for further assistance.

Let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks.
