I have a GlobalSat ND-105C Micro USB GPS that I have tried to run on both my HP laptops which have Windows 8.1 running. The software seems to function for about 30 seconds reading GPS data, and then stopped with a message that says GPSinfo.exe has stopped working. The Windows compatibility software detection says that the GPSInfo is NOT compatible with windows 8.1.

I have done everything I know how to do to get this issue resolved short of through the system overboard.

Please help>..

I wonder where I can buy a new battery to replace the old. The reference sample inside the battery is EXA AL553436B.
Thank you.

I ve been reading all the posts interested on fixing and getting to know the equipment as I just ordered one via Ebay here in Panama.  Once I receive it, my question would be, is it neccesary I immediately look for a way of opening it and solder this antenna to avoid rattle?  I want to have everything running perfectly and I am in love with this device as per what I have read!  thanks!

USB GPS on Android is only for Android 3.1 and above.

Android 2.3.7 does not support "USB Host Mode", which is required for using a USB GPS on your Android device.

The protocol is proprietary, ask GlobalSat for the protocol. I have them but cannot send them.
I have done an open source implementation here:

I am trying to run your globalsat USB on a Nexus 7 (running Android 5.1.1) I have installed the USBGPS4DROID , and enabled 'mock locations.
I have not yet been able to get the tablet to 'discover' the satnav. Is there something else I should do? I have connected it  to the tablet via a powered USB hub.
It would be great to have a detailed installation instruction.

Alternatively, if you can't help, can you send me a link to 'Herbert' who made the app, as presumably he'll be able to advise. I cannot find a way of contacting him (I've tried github, xdadevelopers forum and youtube).
Thanks, Robin

ps there are only 4 fingers in a hand!
