Unfortunately, due to the specific version of the PL2303 Prolific Chipset used in the BU-353, it will not be compatible with Windows 8. Although, just recently, we may have found a work around, please refer to this forum post: http://www.usglobalsat.com/forum/index.php?topic=4464.msg14047#msg14047

If you're looking for a USB GPS Receiver that is fully compatible with Windows 8, we highly recommend the new BU-353-S4, which uses the new SiRF Star IV chipset that offers better performance, faster time to fix and better accuracy: http://www.usglobalsat.com/p-688-bu-353-s4.aspx

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Coming soon to the USGlobalSat market. The new micro USB GPS Dongle, the ND-105 and ND-105C.

The ND-105/5Hz is a small compact micro USB receiver which allows you to have the same capabilities of it's predecessor ND-100 with a smaller footprint. With it's compact design and upgrade in chipset. Allows the portability of the ND-100 but with faster first to fix time and greater GPS accuracy.

The ND-105C/1Hz is a small compact micro USB GPS receiver that can be use with the latest versions of Android smartphones and tablets as well your everyday computer or laptop. We're currently developing a exclusive USGlobalSat Android application. With it's compact design and upgrade in chipset. Allows the portability of the ND-100 but with faster first to fix time and greater GPS accuracy.

I will post more updates on these new devices the closer we get to the release date. We look forward to introducing these new models into the market.  ;D

With Windows 8 laptop or tablet you first need to make sure that it has  bluetooth capabilities. If not, you'll need to buy a bluetooth adapter for your PC or table. Most newer models come with bluetooth capability. Here is a quick video on how to pair a device to your Windows 8 PC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQZsd4Yk1nE

The pairing code for all of our USGlobalSat devices is : 0000

Please download the latest version of GPSinfo testing tool from our website at: http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/downloads/GPSInfo.zip

if you run into any issues you can alway contact tech support at: http://www.usglobalsat.com/ContactUs.aspx

Thank you!

The problem could be a weak signal or possibly the GPS chipset has gone out. Try starting the watch up and standing outside with a clear veiw of the sky. Try not to move around to much to ensure that the watch has enough time to get a fix. If you've tried that with no GPS fix still. Try to factory rest the device in the configuration settings. Then restart your watch and see if it is able to get a fix. If your device is still unable to get a GPS fix then you may have a to replace it. Sorry!

Seems like it:

ANT+ is pretty standardized, I have not happened to hear about compatibility problems at all, as long as the device has support for the sensor type.

Thanks Gerhard.  Can you tell me if a Garmin GSC-10 combined sensor will work with a 580?
